Please note there will be no green wheeled bin collections between Saturday 23rd December 2023 and Saturday 6th January 2024.

We will again be working with Trinity Hospice to offer the doorstep collections of real Christmas trees to all areas of Fylde. The collections will take place on Friday 12th January, Saturday 13th January and Sunday 14th January 2024.  Residents will be able to book a tree collection online and pledge a charitable donation to Trinity Hospice for their doorstep tree collection. The bookings site is accessible now on the Trinity Hospice website and available up to early January, a link to the booking form is also on our website – Recycling at Christmas – Fylde Council  the meantime Trinity Hospice are looking for volunteers to assist with this event, further details can be found via their website https://www.trinityhospice.co.uk/support-us/fundraise-for-us/corporate-fundraising/tree-collection/volunteer/

We are also making arrangements to set up the temporary Christmas Tree collection sites, the dates for this year will be from Wednesday 3rd January to Sunday 14th January 2024. Please find below the list of Christmas Tree collection sites for the residents to use. Altrnatively residents have the option of using the Trinity doorstep collection or chopping up the tree and placing it in the green wheeled bin (if subscribed) once the service resumes on Monday 8th January 2024.

  • Coastguard Station, North Beach car park, St Annes
  • William Segar Hodgson Park, Coronation Road, Kirkham

Real Christmas trees collected by Trinity Hospice or taken to one of the designated collection points above will again be planted on St Annes beach as part of the ongoing sand dunes restoration project.

The above details will be made available on our webpage Recycling at Christmas – Fylde Council and promoted on social media over the Christmas period.
